Thing Queue

by Administrator 31. December 2009 00:36

Being a short note at the end of the year to say "Thing Queue" to everyone who has supported me / humoured me / encouraged me / been patient in 2009 as I have embarked on this rather bizarre little endeavour of mine...

I couldn't have done it without you.  Actually, I could have done it without you, but it wouldn't have been as much fun or as rewarding.

In particular, thing queue in no particular order to: Vic, Jen, Pam, Sam, Lynne, my family and friends who have put up with my puns longer than most, and lastly those crafty people over at Folksy.com especially those who've purchased a card or two.

Thing queue, and all the best to everyone for 2010!

Things In Store

by Administrator 22. December 2009 23:16

No, not a pun this time.

Okay, actually it is a pun.  I have updated the shop on this site so that you can now purchase Things directly from here using PayPal (rather than purchasing via Folksy).  This means, in particular, that you have no need to register to purchase a Thing - you can just simply shop and then checkout via PayPal and there'll be no questions asked.

I've not fallen out with Folksy or anything.  We're still speaking.  We're trying to work things out.

As a result of these shop changes, you have one less excuse for not buying a Thing. According to my calculations this means that the average person is down to only 71 reasons for not purchasing a Thing.  If you're this person, I warn you that I'm working on bringing those reasons down bit by bit until only poverty, a severe dislike of Things, or some kind of mental disturbance are the only possible explanations for not purchasing.

Have a wonderful festive season one and all - and be safe out there.

Jon

Site and Shop Updates

by Administrator 19. December 2009 15:09

Just the briefest of notes to let you know of two updates:

 1.  You can now rate each post on the ThisIsThings web site, so please do rate the things you like the most as your ratings will assist me in deciding what seems to appeal to people and also from which ones I will ultimately create greetings cards.

 2.  Several new things were added to the shop over the last few days:  "Things Will Get Better" (which is a new design) and card versions of the "Let's Talk Things Over", "Wild Thing", "Things Always Look Better In The Morning" and "Things Don't Add Up" things.

I hope you like them.

And finally, if you have any ideas for things, please do let me know.  Already many of you have chipped in with some excellent ideas.  If I use one of yours, then I will send you a card of the design for free.  I already have a very long list of potential future things - I don't get out much - but there's every chance that you've come up with something cleverer and funnier than I have...

I hope things are good with you and for you.

T'ra for now!

Shop Updates and "Putting a Brave Face on Things"

by Administrator 16. December 2009 22:13

Happy Festive Season to all...

May I take this opportunity to wish that your greetings are aptly seasonal, your halls are suitably decked and your ding dongs are both merry and high. And, since this entry will probably be the last before the end of the year, may I also wish you all the very best of things to come in 2010.

In other news I have updated the This Is Things shop to add two new greetings cards based on "Some Days Things Don't Add Up" and "Things Always Look Better In The Morning" (the latter featuring a Thing that does genuinely look better in the morning than it did the night before).

Also added to the shop is a new Thing - "Putting a Brave Face on Things" - probably quite apt for those for whom family Christmas gatherings come a close second to having root canal surgery in terms of enjoyment.  Putting a brave face on things or not, I hope you have a good one!
